Reading Response #2

The Louvre

Plan A
Plan B
Satellite View

Plan B leaves a part of the poche white, opening into a room, north of the pyramid, creating larger emphasis on the openness of the room between the hall, while Plan A is more confined and emphasizes it as a corridor between the inside and outside of the lobby.

Additionally, Plan A puts the details within the walls in colored ink with no hard outlines, suggesting a wider, more open sense of spaciousness within the main entrance of the Louvre, while Plan B outlines the various features such as the iconic pyramid or circular plaza in hard black lines, emphasizing the man-made landmarks, suggesting a more meticulous sense of placement compared to the first.

However, in an exception to this Plan A gives information about road and paths through the garden/field area in the west, implying a sense of order for the crowd to follow, while in Plan B it is simply an empty space, suggesting that the people may walk wherever they wish.
