The story the architect is telling here is subtle yet very noticeable when one pays attention to the detail. What makes his story and intentions, so under the radar, is what makes the story so exciting and unique. It is the fluidity of nature and structure that allows the architect’s story to come to life. It is the theme that allows this story to make sense to observers, which happens to be the idea of nature. These individual details that I have collected are just a few examples of what makes this structure whole while also maintaining consistency throughout the architect’s story. The architect’s structure tells observers a story of how the power of embracing surroundings and portraying them and making them one with your work brings beauty and perspective into day to day life. The use of boulders as stairs embody the rocky field that naturally surrounds the home and makes it feel as though the staircase was always there. The two wooden columns that support the awning of the front door resemble the trunk of a tree, which once again embraces the sense of forest that surrounds the home. Finally, the railing of the staircase on the interior is less natural than the other examples. Still, the design portrays an idea of branches and vines that ultimately grasp the whole theme of this architectural story, nature.
